Moran Bulldogs avenge loss; topple Indians
Thursday, September 17, 2009 • Posted September 17, 2009

What a difference a year makes. Last year the Cherokee Indians handily defeated the Moran Bulldogs 52-6. This year on wet, synthetic turf at Zephyr’s new stadium, the Bulldogs came out on top, 18-20. The Indians had their chances, with Duncan Roberts recovering two Bulldog fumbles while Jesse Perez, Stephen Austermann, and Tucker Corsi each had a fumble recovery. Corsi scored 2 TDs on runs of 29 and 18 yards. Perez added the other score on a 6 yard run. All 3 of the Indian’s PAT attempts were off the mark. All of the Indian’s scores came in the 1st half.

Coach Brand commented that the Moran team had improved greatly over last year, comparing them to the likes of Faith Academy, who gave the Indians a tough game last week.

The Indians will regroup and take on the Lometa Hornets this Friday at 7:30 at home.
