Don Woodruff

Don Woodruff, 72, of Grand Prairie, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2009 at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, TX. He was born September 6, 1937 in San Angelo, TX, the son of Carl Judson Woodruff and Lola Whitley Woodruff. Don Woodruff and Linda Gay Rutherford were married on August 29, 1959 in San Saba. He worked as an Insurance Agent and was the former owner of San Saba Carwash. Don was a former member of the Lions Club, San Saba Volunteer Fire Department and San Saba Volunteer EMS. He was also a former Boyscout Leader and was a former member of the San Saba Golf Association.

Don is survived by his wife, Gay Woodruff of Grand Prairie; his daughters, Jill Lawson and her husband, John of Grand Prairie; Ginger Stafford and her husband, Brandon of Grand Prairie; his grandchildren, Austin Barclift, Macie Lawson, Judson Stafford; his brother, Bill Woodruff of Bend; and several nieces and nephews.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Delores Delano.

Services were held Friday, September 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of San Saba with Rev. Bill Skaar, Rev. Sam Crosby and Rev. Jack Riley officiating. Interment followed at San Saba Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to donor’s favorite charity.
