San Saba JV 12 - Mason JV 8

Last Thursday we traveled to the Puncher Dome and played the Mason JV Punchers. We were able to come away with a hard fought victory. We were trailing 8-6 and scored on a 60 yard pass from Clayton Perry to Luke Cox with 1:35 left in the game!

Defensively we played well with the exception of the opening series. We allowed Mason to keep the ball for nine minutes of the first quarter. We finally were able to hold their offense in check. Defensive standouts included Luke Cox, Clayton Perry, Sean Argote, Zack Davis, Ian Spence, Rustin Ellis, Tanner Weyerts, and Juan Carlos Garcia.

Offensively we were unable to move the ball consistently, but we did have 2 key long passes for Touchdowns. The first was a 40 yard pass from J.T. Mathis to Clayton Perry in the 3rd quarter to cut the Punchers lead to 8-6. The other pass was the winning pass from Perry to Cox.

Thursday night at 6:00 we will play our first home game vs. Goldthwaite. Come out and watch a great group of kids. You will enjoy what you see.
