We are about middle way through the 2nd week of the ’09-‘10 school year. The Indians have gotten off to a good start in football.

They will play at Faith Academy in Marble Falls this Friday night at 7:30. The Faith Academy stadium is 3 miles East of Hwy 281 on RR 1431.

We have welcomed 3 new teachers to the school district. Patience (Perry) Shanklin is teaching Spanish I, II, and III, as well as Geometry.

Mrs. Ginger Shilts is teaching 6-8 Science and elementary Social Studies. Stephanie Atchley is teaching elementary Science.

There will be a Skeet Shoot and Bar-B-Que fundraiser for the Cherokee Booster Club this Saturday at Jason Randolph’s, about 3 miles south of Cherokee on Hwy. 16. The event will start at 11:00 am. Entry fees and food are by donation. Bring your company out. Tell your hunters about it. It’s all for a good cause. For more information, go by the Cherokee Feed Store or call 325-622-4004.

Monday, Sept. 7, is a school holiday.
