Labor of Love Blood Drive
Thursday, September 3, 2009 • Posted September 3, 2009

As we approach the Labor Day holiday, give blood and thanks for your good health. Your one pint donation could save up to three lives. During holiday weekends, the blood supply often drops so we try to build the supply before the holiday. United Blood Services is the sole provider of blood to patients in 10 area hospitals including Brownwood Regional Medical Center. On average, those hospitals need about 300 pints per week. So, help make sure the blood is on the shelf when you or someone you love needs it. Make an appointment to donate today.

The Brownwood Regional Medical Center Blood Drive will be held Thursday, September 3rd, 10 am – 2 p.m. at the Outpatient Center, Classrooms 1 & 2, (2nd floor of hospital).

All donors will get a free t-shirt and snacks. Donors this week only will be entered into special Labor of Love drawings which include a grand prize drawing for a $500 Ashley Furniture gift card. You will also be entered into a monthly drawing for the chance to win $500, a courtesy donation from Wells Fargo Advisors. Donate two red blood cells and get double entries plus a $5 Wal-Mart gift card.

To make an appointment for this drive, go online at www.bloodhero.com. Enter sponsor code: brmc or call United Blood Services toll free. That number is 1-800-756-0024.

United Blood Services has been this area’s non-profit community blood provider since 1956 and serves patients in 11 surrounding counties. The United Blood Services network is one of the nation’s oldest and largest non-profit blood service organizations, and is a founding member of America’s Blood Centers and the AABB.
