We registered .6 of an inch of rain Saturday night bringing the total for March to 3.7 inches compared to 7.8 at this time last year. The vegetation is really getting green and the mesquite leaves are coming out so I guess we can say spring is here. You wouldn’t have thought so yesterday (Easter Sunday), though. It was cloudy and cold. At least we didn’t have snow, like on Easter last year.

There were 22 of us here at my house for Easter Sunday and it was so cold, we had to eat in the house instead of out in the yard as we usually do on Easter. Martha and Roger Tucker were here from Menard; Myrt Overby from Montana; Stacie Smith and Santos Elizondo from San Angelo; Rex, Amy, Jax, Georgia and Jesse Tucker from Brady; Ken, Lanell, Theron, Kelton and Hannah Parson from Bangs; Marilyn and Michael Suber from Richland Springs; Bethany Suber from Stephenville; Andy Cummings from Milburn; Billy Cummings and Sherry Haws from Brownwood; as well as myself. We had a full house. Everyone put on their coats and went out for the Easter egg hunt.

Bobby and Helen Deeds had their annual Easter reunion. Present were Bobby E. Deeds; Bobby and Ashley Deeds and Ethan; Georgia Deeds; Billy and Lori Deeds, Lillie and Gunter; Brenda and Danny May; Wayne and Betty May; Cody and Jennifer Rabenaldt; Creet, Hutch, Signe, Cash and Shadie; Benny and Becky Deeds; Susie and Joel Johnson; Rita Beakley; Linda and Jerry Jolly; Frankie and Johna Evans; Opal and Brent Deeds; Dale and Suzette Butler; April Butler, Dillon and Brandon; and the hosts, Bobby and Helen.

Drew Lee and children visited a few days last week with Curtis and Wilma Lee and they enjoyed a quiet Easter.

The report on Linda Tharp is that she is out of the hospital and will be staying with her son, William, while undergoing treatments. We send our best wishes to Linda and Walter and the rest of the family.

Bethany Suber was treated to a trip to Las Vegas over her spring break. The trip was a belated 21st birthday gift from her sister, Stacie. Audrey Carr, Holly and Donald White and Santos Elizondo accompanied them on the trip.

The latest news from Mildred Weatherman is that she has been moved to a nursing home in Early for her recovery from her fall. She is doing very well, getting around with her walker.
