"Apron Strings" presented to Wallace Creek EE Club
Thursday, March 27, 2008 • Posted March 27, 2008

On March 20, 2008, the Wallace Creek EE Club met at the clubhouse. They had four members of the Live Oak EE Club as guests.

The meeting was called to order. Roll call was answered by the members and guests to the question of "What do you do to relax before preparing for sleep?" Most of the answers were reading.

The minutes were read and approved. The treasurer's report was given. A "Thank You" note was read for the food delivered to Sharon and Doug Hayes from the Stew Supper. Anne Sanford notified Lynn Blankenship that she and her husband were moving to the Metroplex area to be near their children. Also, Glenna Pafford will be moving out of town. The Club will greatly miss these two dedicated members.

The Council report was given. Some of the topics were as follows:

• The District TEEA meeting will be held in Llano on April 22nd. The meal will be $13.00, which is due by March 31st.

• The Spring Fling will be held in Hamilton on March 31st. The meal is to be paid at the registration which begins at 8:30 a.m.

• The May Event will be May 7th; the location is to be announced at a later date. Members are asked to have their projects completed by then.

The Stew Supper was successful with plenty of good food, fellowship and excitement for the 28 who attended.

A quilt top and lining was offered to the Club to be used as a fundraising project. Doris Cates made the motion to accept the quilt top and lining and seconded by Jackie Doner and Gloria Lusty (tied); motion carried.

Jackie Doner announced the Impact 2000 Easter Egg Hunt is to be held on Saturday the 22nd.

The meeting was adjourned.

Lynn Blankenship gave the program "Apron Strings," which revealed how aprons were used in the past. Some members brought aprons and told their stories of what their aprons meant to them. There were some old apron patterns passed around. Can you believe one pattern cost 25 cents?

Doris Cates served refreshments to our guests - Connie Ballinger, Dorothy Gage, Bertha Griffay, and Myrna Najar - and members - Lynn Blankenship, Imogene Hawkins, Gloria Lusty, Jackie Doner, Marilyn Miller, and Margie Osborn.

The next meeting will be April 17, 2008.
