The weatherman knew what he was talking about since everyone at the Bend woke up Easter Sunday to the sounds of rain drops, cold and just one-tenth of an inch. Just enough moisture to put an end to early morning Easter egg hunting. The rabbit had to wait until Sunday afternoon before the eggs could be hunted.

Gary and Julia Jones of Mesquite came in Wednesday and stayed until Friday with his mother Barbara Jones. Friday they had business in Austin and then on to the Outlet Mall in San Marcos for some shopping before returning home to Mesquite.

Barbara had Easter lunch in the home of Dennis and Glenda Scroggins. Barbara reported that Glenda has finished up the chemo treatments and will now be going in for radiation treatments at Scott and White.

Lola Morris reported that the Morris family held their annual hunt Sunday afternoon. The eggs were hunted with enthusiasm, as some of the eggs had money inside and others had different kinds of prizes. Amanda Morris, Jamie and her husband Dave Garrett and his mother, of Lampasas, Deidra and her husband Robert Nixon and son Sean of Woodlands, David and Autumn Edwards of Burnet, Dickie Eckhoff, Jimmy, Sylvia Stinnett, and Lola Morris enjoyed Easter lunch and the egg hunt.

Jane Clark reported in about the family gathering in Colorado over the Spring Break to enjoy the snow and get in some skiing. Everyone had a good time. Just one little accident reported by Jane that daughter Jamie fell while snow boarding and cracked a bone in her elbow, but that didn’t keep her from skiing with her arm in a sling. That’s what you call determination.

On the way back home Doug, Kristi and children stopped in Lubbock to visit his brother David and his wife Patty Messer. William and Jane visited Boyd, Melissa and children before returning home.

Else Dean Shirley of Portales, N.M. and her two grandchildren Timber and Cayman Rogers of Cloudcroft, N.M. and son Kenneth Shirley of Claude spent Easter weekend in the home of William and Jane Clark. Saturday they were joined by Jamie, A.J. and Andrew Houdyshell, Doug and Kristi, Jordan and Jaylee Messer to enjoy an Easter egg hunt. Friday night LaNell Daniels joined the family to play games while husband Jack was down on the river fishing with members of his family from the San Angelo area.

Kelly and Jennifer Goodson of Kerrville were in over the weekend visiting parents George and Toni Mayben.

Jeff, Tanya and Ashley Chalfant of Cedar Park were in over the weekend visiting Rufus and Tommye Cobern.
