The San Saba County Volunteer EMS, as you know it today, will be gone unless 20-25 people sign up immediately!

The wonderful citizens of San Saba County have been very generous with their money through donations and memorials. We appreciate this type of support tremendously. However, we need people to become certified and help to fill shifts now!

At this time, there are 41 active certified volunteers and 11 drivers (five are included in the certified group) to fill approximately 360 shifts each month. Of these 47 volunteers, 46 reside in San Saba and one resides in Richland Springs. There are no volunteers from Cherokee. We need volunteers from all areas of the county.

A new ECA class was organized for February 14, 2008, but was cancelled due to lack of interest. Only six people signed up and the state mandates that a class must consist of at least 10 people. Another class will be organized immediately if at least 20 people will agree to attend class and become active EMS members.

Can you imagine San Saba County without any emergency medical services?!?

Please call Cindy Stafford at 372-5144 or Linda Sloan at 622-4538 or Charlie Peeler at 372-1240 to sign up today; or you can contact a current EMS member about your desire to fill this extremely important community need.
