We have been missing out on the rains in the area and although it is still fairly green, we need a good old soaking rain.

There were only four members present at the Busy Bee quilting day on the 11th. They were Grace Hardman, Marilyn Miller, Fay and Gloria Lusty. Fay was hemming a quilt for Grace while the others were putting in one for Gloria. Visitors were Billie George McKinnerney and myself.

At the community meeting on the 15th, we had 24 present for the ice cream supper. I believe there were four different kinds of ice cream and needless to say, it was all good. I know because I sampled all of them! We have located a piano for the community center. Bobby Deeds, Ben Dennis and Charlie Cummings make up the committee chosen to get the piano moved and Monica Edmondson will contact a piano tuner as it will need to be tuned after being moved. We will be ready and anxious to try out our “new” piano at the gospel singing on October 17th. Make your plans to join us.

There will not be a community meeting in September due to the rodeo appreciation supper on that date.

We were sorry to hear of the passing of Mary Cummings last week. Mary was always good about donating some of her good pies or cakes to every local fundraiser. Her services were held on Saturday.

We also send our sympathy to Dean Lord and Maxine Robbins on the loss of their daughter, Cheryl. Her funeral service was held Monday.

School is back in session. We had our last two “little ones” go to kindergarten. Jesse Tucker started in Brady and Hannah Parson started in Bangs. Jesse had to confess that he had to sit out on the very first day for talking when he was not supposed to. They will have to figure it out, won’t they?
