The Ladies Golf Association met August 13, 2009 with the Chair for August, Dorothy Sterner, calling for a game of low putts. The winner was Anita Miles with 30 putts and she also chipped in to win the chip in pot, Second Place went to Jo Anne Hardy, who also scored the Low Gross and Low Net for the day, and a tie for Third between Jo Ann Snow and Hattie Rogers. Dorothy wasn’t able to play but enjoyed being with the ladies. Pat Ribb was able to play a few holes. It was nice having Pat back on the links. Bobbie Churchill joined the ladies and did lunch. We are small in numbers but long on fellowship with one another.

August 15-16, 2009 was the scene of the Three Person Tournament and one of our own tied for First Place in the Third Flight, Debbie Lee. Her partners were Mike Ivy and Larry Hardin! They tied with Dane Mahan, Charly Bagley, and Ralph Wilson. Good for Debbie and her partners and the other San Saba folks! The ladies ran the concession stand for the tournament and had a profitable weekend. We are in the process of earning money to purchase a water fountain for the pond on hole #18. It will make that ending hole even more beautiful!

With football in the air golfing will soon be on the back burner, but you know what - a real golfer never gets tired of “swinging!”
