Roxie Taff, 96, of San Saba, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2009 at her residence in San Saba. She was born December 21, 1912 in San Saba, Texas, the daughter of Samuel David Edmondson and Addie Belle Carter Edmondson. Roxie Edmondson and T.J. Taff were married on March 10, 1932 in San Saba. She was a member of the Pecan Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Thomas E. Taff and his wife Connie J. of Harrison, Arkansas; her daughter, Faye B. Hammer of San Saba; her grandchildren, Danny G. Smith, Kathy Leftwich and her husband Alan, Leslie Hendrickson and her husband John, Jay P. Taff and his wife Gloria; her great-grandchildren, Coby Leftwich, Lindsay Leftwich, Dylan Taylor-Smith, Candice Barnes, Jacob Eaves, Clayton Taff, Chelsea Taff, Marshall Taff; her great great grandchild, Lucas Barnes; her brother, Howard Edmondson of Comanche and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson, Jimmy Smith, four brothers and one sister.

Services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George McHorse officiating. Interment will follow at San Saba City Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Pecan Grove Baptist Church or to the San Saba County EMS.
