Ruby Mae Gage

Ruby Mae Gage, 96, of San Saba, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at in San Saba, Texas. She was born September 25, 1912 in Brown County, Texas, the daughter of Charlie Cobern and Clara Miller Cobern. Ruby Mae Cobern and Clev Gage were married on November 14, 1936 in San Saba. Ruby owned and operated Gage Plumbing, where she was the bookkeeper. She was a charter member of the Herren Baptist Church and taught Sunday School at Herren Baptist Church and First Baptist Church for years.

Ruby is survived by her daughter-in-law, Johnnie Flo Ray of Granbury; her grandchildren, Clara Kallemeyn and her husband, Britt; Barry Ray and his wife, Denise; her great-grandchildren, Chase and Nicole Kallemeyn; Rebecca, Jake and Sam Ray; her sister-in-law, Lillian Cobern of San Saba and several nieces and nephews.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Odean Ray and four brothers.

Services were held Friday, August 14, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Crosby officiating. Interment followed at San Saba Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the San Saba Volunteer EMS.
