Richland Springs First Christian Church CWF Meet
Thursday, August 13, 2009 • Posted August 13, 2009

On Wednesday evening, August 5, 2009 the members of the Richland Springs First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) CWF met for their monthly meeting in the fellowship hall of the church. The meeting began at 6:00 pm. Before we were served by Christy Crisp, Martha Bush and Vicki Eden, Mary Kate Adams shared with us a devotional about being settled in our ways and challenged us to become unsettled.

At 7:00 p.m. Georganna Sonnenberg called the meeting to order. First of all she thanked Mary Kate for the devotionals she’s been sharing with us this summer. They have all been wonderful and enjoyed by all.

Vicki Eden was asked to read the minutes of the July meeting. That was approved by all. Bobbie Adams then gave the treasury’s report and that was also approved. Old business discussed was the hamburger/ice cream social we had on July 19th. Georganna extended a thank you to everyone that helped make it a success. Everyone had a great time and is looking forward to having another one soon.

We discussed having another one later in the year, perhaps in October.

New business discussed was providing food to the referees at the home football games this year. After much discussion we decided not to do that and Bobbie will let Coach Burkhart know.

Also discussed was the fellowship dinner we have planned for August 23rd. We decided a menu for that dinner. We then set the date for our Christmas party in December. Mary Kate is planning a community Christmas cantata on December 13th. We scheduled our Christmas party for Dec 16th so that the choir members can have the 1st two Wednesdays to practice for the cantata.

Georganna also told us that at our September meeting she will bring copies of calendars so that we can plan the Advent and Christmas season activities. Also at our September meeting we will begin our new study of the women in the early years of the church.

Mary Kate also suggested we be thinking about this year’s Coyotes for a Cure which we will plan for in October. She brought up the possibility of having a quilt made to raffle for that cause. She will inquire into the cost for that and will report back to us so we can make a final decision on that.

Our next meeting will be September 2nd. Scheduled to serve at the September meeting is Bobbie, Sue Williams and Georganna.

Attending this August meeting were Martha Bush, Mary Kate Adams, Georganna Sonnenberg, Paula Shannon, Bobbie Adams, Amanda Sonnenberg, Vicki Eden and Mikayla Eden.
