JOHN 14-9: "Jesus saith unto him, (Have I been so long with you, and yet hath thou not known Me Philip?) He that hath seen Me hath seen the FATHER: and how sayeth thou then, show us the FATHER?"

There might be many sincere Christians who have followed Christ to the best of their ability for a long time; but have not known exactly Who and why Jesus really is. My effort in this writing will be to show what I sincerely believe God has clearly shown me. And it is the same thing Christ wanted Philip to know and understand. I believe there is no greater message in your Bible. This has become such a powerful message to me I always think of it as the THREE W'S of Christ. Those being: (1) WHO Christ is, (2) WHAT Christ is, and (3) WHY Christ is. With the number 3; WHY Christ is having priority over the other two. It is easy to know #1, Who Christ is. John describes Him in the beginning of his gospel as the WORD of God. That means He was everything God is and everything God stands for. That was what God wanted and Jesus so perfectly pleased God, HE did not choose to ever father another. Thus He became known as the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD. If you are proud of the life you have lived thus far; you might wish to see your best efforts in your children's life. We realize we cannot give that to them, but that is exactly what God did when He gave His Word, a life of flesh and blood life in JESUS CHRIST. A woman was the mother of Christ and that gave Him a body just like yours and mine, but God was His father and that added the Holy Spirit to Jesus. That brings us to #2, (what Christ is). It may be a little harder to clearly see that; but again the answer is found John 1:4 "In Him was life; and the life was the light of men." If you have ever been in total darkness, it is a scary experience. But we become amazed at how stronger light is over darkness. The very instant light shines, darkness disappears. If you permit the light of Christ shine through you there will be no frightening darkness in your life, and that always brings peace and happiness, with a right relationship with God.

And now for the big #3, (Why Christ is). The answer to this is found so often in your Bible in various places, it should be easy for anyone to find. Scriptures tell us God created the heavens and the earth and all that in them is. God looked at all He created and said, "it is good, it is very good." He was so proud of it He wanted to share it and because His nature is pure LOVE; He created a man for that reason, and for man's perfection, He made him a woman, to share his life. Scripture tells us God made the earth to be inhabited and the man and woman began to multiply. God then made a covenant with a special people to help them know how He wanted them to live this flesh and blood life. But those people began to break God's covenant and God decided to make a new and better covenant with no flaws to bless man. That is where and WHY Christ came in. He is that new and perfect covenant for man. Scripture tells us God knows the future as well He does the past and He knew man would not have the ability to know the future, nor the wisdom to always make right decisions. So God decided to give Christ as #3. And let Him be a pattern and an example how God wants man to live. Do you have enough faith and Biblical knowledge to let Christ be your pattern and example for this present life? That may not be easy. Remember Christ knew His future and it was horrible; but He said to God; "Father not My will, but Thine be done." All Christians should pray each morning with those words. God is ALMIGHTY-HE knows what's right for you. Do it.
