Norman Dale Clark

Norman Dale Clark, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully of natural causes on August 8, 2009 in Pasadena, Texas. He was the last surviving member of a pioneer Texas family. Dale was born to James A. and Nora Clark on Apri1 4, 1922 in Lampasas, Texas. He grew up and attended school in rural Lampasas County. A member of the “Great Generation,” he volunteered to serve in the United States Navy in 1942 and served in the South Pacific until 1946.

Dale and June Wilder were united in marriage on November 15, 1952, in San Saba, Texas. That union lasted for over 56 years. Dale was employed by Champion Paper for 32 years. After retiring he enjoyed time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren and the pursuit of his hobby as a skilled woodworker. He recently remarked that he had really enjoyed his retirement.

Dale was a man of integrity, and he was respected by all who knew him. He displayed in his everyday life those traditional values that he prized.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his seven brothers and sisters.

Dale left behind June, his wife; his daughter, Sue and her husband, Matt Hepler of Pottsboro, Texas; his son, Don and his wife, De Vonn; his granddaughters, Ashley and Megan; and his grandson, Tyler and his wife, Kayla all of Pasadena, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held in San Saba, Texas at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home on August 13, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. with Larry Connors officiating. Burial will be in the San Saba City Cemetery.
