The best news from the Bend is the wonderful rain that was received this past week. Friday a light rain and then Saturday a down pour that made the total for last week over three inches. The bad news is the high temperatures are returning.

Kristi Messer and Jane Clark attended a baby shower held at the Father’s House for Dana Perez of Austin. After the shower Dana, Sarah Wilson, Malissa and baby girl, along with her sister, Raven of Marble Falls, Jamie Houdyshell and her sons visited in the home of William Clark. Some stayed overnight and some returned to their homes, all in all a lot of visiting went on.

William Clark, Boyd, Melissa, Eli and Silas Clark are spending some time in Crested Butt, Colorado for some well earned vacation time.

Jamie, A.J. and Andrew Houdyshell recently attended the Massey reunion which was held at Dora, New Mexico. Bobby and Kit Clark attended the National Champion High School Youth rodeo that was held in New Mexico to watch son, Jesse, rope. Jesse placed 5th this year in roping and will have one more year to participate before he graduates from High School.

Jane Clark received a phone call from some friends that she had lost touch with 50 years ago. She and Kristi had been going over old photos and she came across a couple who she couldn’t remember and had decided to toss it out. The very next day she received a phone call from Stan and Pat Foreman who are now living in Burnet and who just happened to be the couple in the photo that Jane had decided to discard. At first she had no idea who was calling and after some conversation a light bulb went off and she knew who the people was in the photo that she had planned to toss. It now will not be tossed and they are planning to get together over dinner when William returns from Colorado.

Jim, Patty, and Thomas Caughman of Houston were weekend visitors at the home of Bill and Jo Price.

Rufus Cobern has been ill suffering from pneumonia. Hopefully he will have recovered by the time you read this.

Happy birthday greetings go out to John Byrd who will celebrate a birthday August 10 and to Kit Clark who will celebrate her birthday August 12.

Congratulations go out to Dan and Jill Harrington who will celebrate an anniversary August 11, and to Gene and Janet Brister who will celebrate their anniversary August 13.
