Recent visitors in the home of Rick and Wiliece Hoffman were their granddaughters, Natalie and Alanna Christian of College Station. They were real excited about many things in the country, but perhaps the best thing was a tour of the Cherokee Feed Store.
They were able to play with the kittens, to see the different feeds and salt/mineral blocks in the store and to be given a tour by Mrs. Vicki. They learned how feed is weighed, mixed, and sacked. Alanna learned some tips from her Uncle Franklin Crain that she passed on to Mrs. Vicki about what the different salt blocks do for cattle. They, also, enjoyed pizza and ice cream at the Cherokee Grocery Store with their aunt, Sandra Crain.
Rick and Wiliece Hoffman and Franklin and Sandra Crain recently attended the wedding of their cousin, Kimberly Hightower and Tyson Baumgardner in Waco. Kimberly is the granddaughter of Sue Cavness who lived in Cherokee in the past.
Wiliece and Sandra went early to help with the wedding reception. Ask them how to have yellow roses delivered from Equador to Cherokee and then travel with them to Waco in 100+ degree Texas weather!
Also, attending the Hightower and Baumgardner wedding was Shea, Dawn, Charlotte, and Gillian Riordan of College Station.
After the wedding the Riordans came to visit a few days with the Hoffmans and Crains. Gillian is the newest granddaughter of Rick and Wiliece. She was born on May 26th in College Station. Grandparents report they have gone back to Plano to recuperate!
Kelcie Silva spent several days with her grandparents, Charles and Carolyn Perry. While she was here they visited Bobby and Peggy Spinks at San Saba.
Recently Gladys and Chantal Yarbrough and Donna Dutton attended Spencer Normand’s graduation from Boot Camp. Gladys reported that Spencer looked distinguished in his uniform. Gladys wanted to thank Donna Dutton for doing the driving on the long trip.
