Orville Summers

Orville Summers, 84, of San Saba, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Llano Memorial Hospital. He was born August 19, 1924 in San Saba County, the son of Jessie James Summers and Edna Inez Dobbs Summers. Orville Summers and Bobbye Joe Parker were married on December 21, 1951 in San Saba County. He worked for the State Highway Department until his retirement and then worked on the Buster Pool Ranch for many years and attended the Parkview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Bobbye Joe Summers of San Saba, TX; his brothers Clifton Summers and his wife Jean of Midland, TX, Chuck Summers and his wife Clara of Stockton, CA; his sisters Nell Harris and her husband Don of Ft. Worth, TX, June and her husband Woodrow of San Saba, TX and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son Tim Summers.

Services were held Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Joshua Crutchfield officiating. Interment followed at San Saba Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the donor’s favorite charity or to the San Saba Cemetery Building Fund.
