Descendants of W.W. and Mary Frances Brazil Millican met at the San Saba Civic Center on Saturday, July 4th for food, fun, and fellowship. Families began to gather at about 10:30 A. M. as hosts Sylvia and Forrest McGregor were there to greet and register guests. Some 63 family and friends of the family were able to enjoy the day, despite the heat and the drought.

Mose Millican’s family was well-represented. His oldest son, Sherman's family was represented by children Gail Callahan, Jean Strouhal, and Pat (Bonnie) Millican.Pat’s son Geoff and his wife Lindsay were also in attendance.

Helen North Tilton and her husband John represented the North Millican family.

Martha Burnham was the lone representative of the John Zack Millican Owen family this year.

Winston Millican’s widow, Elsie Millican, attended. Her son, Mike and his wife, Charlotte and daughter, Jill were there. Elsie’s daughter, Kay M. Thompson and son, Kelly were in attendance. Also, Elsie’s son, Bob with wife Debbie came and two of their children were present. Monica M. and Kevin Shahan were present with their three children: Risien, Madison, and Gracen. Winston and Kristen and their daughter, Anna rounded out the Elsie Millican group.

Poly Millican’s widow, Thelma and her two daughters, Sylvia (Forrest) McGregor and Mary Nell Thames were pleased to attend. Both of Sylvia and Forrest’s children came. Son Greg, and his wife Karen, and their son, Logan attended. Their daughter, Cathy Anderson and her husband, Randy brought their three children: Clayton, Carley, and Cole. Mary Nell’s son, Todd and his wife, Debbie were able to make it with their two girls: Emma and Sophie.

The Bobbie Millican Parks (sister to Miles and Mose) family was represented by Caroline Parks, wife of Joe Parks.

Miles Millican’s family had a big contingent present, just as last year. Ruth Millican, widow of Manse Millican (son of Julian Millican) was accompanied by several members of her family. Sons, Scott (Pam) Millican and Ron (Vickie) and daughter, Marcy M. Perkins attended. Scott and Pam’s children Lauren and Ryan were able to come this year. And it was good to welcome Jacob Millican and Zach Millican to the gathering.

Special friends and guests who helped make the day a success were C.K. and Vickie Stevenson; John Pat and Emmett Lee Grumbles; Dan and Nicole Boyd with children Isabella and Speight of Oxford, Mississippi; Jim and Saundra Nobles of Albany, Texas; and Mae Robertson.
