BIG EVENT AT THE SAN SABA RIVER GOLF COURSE! SANDEE HARTLEY MADE HER THIRD HOLE IN ONE! What a remarkable record. She may catch Roy Woodward, who has accomplished this fete on all four par threes at the course! Congratulations to Sandee!

The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met June 18, 2009 for play day with the Chair for June, Jo Anne Hardy, calling for a game of counting the holes that start with a Tor F less half your handicap.

The irony of Sandee’s hole in one, it didn’t even count in the game for the day, as it was on number eleven. I doubt that tarnished her delight one bit! And it did make her have the Low Gross and Low Net for the day! And it also counted as a chip in to win the chip in pot!

In the game First Place went to Hattie Rogers and there was a tie for Second Place between Jo Anne Hardy and Sandee Hartley. Hattie has been in a slump, so this was a good win for Hattie. She also scored a birdie for the day so I predict Hattie will be on a roll.

Jo Ann Snow and Dorothy Sterner also participated; and two guests, Vivian McCall and her daughter in law, Jo Reavis of Henderson, Colorado. Jo scored a birdie for the day. We were delighted to have these guests and we are hoping that Vivian will soon become a regular member of the ladies association.

July 4th is right around the corner so let’s be sure and remember our heritage and what our country means to each of us, the freedoms and joys we enjoy in these beautiful United States of America. We have so much to be thankful for and on a smaller scale we still love to be able to be “swinging!”
