Looking for Buried Treasure
Thursday, June 25, 2009 • Posted June 25, 2009

It has become very popular today and in the United Kingdom alone over 200 hundred treasure hordes unearthed last year.

In October 2006 a 38 year old musician from California drove to South Texas and claims to have found a sunken ship that contained a large amount of Gold and Silver. It was in a court battle and now he has limited access to the spot.

This has not stopped him and he is now looking for treasure in other places. He made the statement, “I’ m going to spend my life looking for treasure”.

The Bible mentions treasure and things of great worth and it talks about finding them. The treasures of this earth only have the value that we put on them and they may not last forever. They can decay or deteriorate or be stolen. The Bible says the fear, (reverential love) of the Lord is the key to great treasure, (Isaiah 33:6).

Homes where people live that Love God have great treasures, (Proverbs 21:20). What would it be worth to have a home filled with love? God tells us to seek His Kingdom and His righteousness first, (Matthew 6:33).

There is great treasure in knowing Christ, (Colossians 2:3) and our faith in Him is more precious than gold and will result in the salvation of our souls, (1 Peter 1:7-9). Want to find a great treasure? Try Jesus! See you in Church next Sunday.
