San Saba County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the 71st Annual Rodeo Schedule

The San Saba County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the schedule of events for the 71st Annual Rodeo.

Our Pecan Capital of the World rodeo is to begin on Thursday evening, June 18th with the County Wide Team Roping. The public is invited out to watch local competitors. The concession stand will be open, so come on out and enjoy the evening.

Friday’s activities begin at 6:00 p.m. at the San Saba arena, with a fan favorite, Mutton Bustin’ for the kids. The rodeo is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. with Ray Lancaster Rodeo Company as our producer again this year. Our Rodeo clown with be Damon Rogers better known as the “Rubberband Man.”

Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. the parade line up will begin at the high school. Judging will begin at that time and ribbons will be awarded. The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday evening our rodeo activities will begin again at 6:00 p.m. with the Mutton Bustin’ for the kids followed by the Rodeo at 7:00 p.m. The concession stand will be open both nights so save up your appetite and come enjoy one of our delicious hamburgers.

Our Queen candidates will be introduced both nights of the rodeo. Saturday evening the Queen will be crowned and the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce scholarship recipient will be announced. The deserving young lady will be awarded a $1,500. scholarship from the Chamber for her continuing education.

Saturday evening after the rodeo the Chamber is proud to introduce the Southbound Band. They will be set up at the rodeo arena slab to play for your dancing and listening pleasure. Your rodeo admission ticket gets you into the dance free so please stay and join in the fun.

The Chamber invites all of you to come on out to our 71st annual rodeo. Rodeo Queen contestants from San Saba, Richland Springs and Cherokee will be selling tickets.

The queen contestants are Laura Preciado, Judy Fairchok Burdine, Nathania Cisneroz, Leanne Perry, Summer Davis, Kayla Fry, Brittany Glaze, Whitney Key, Shelby Hardy, Lindsey Roberds, Sara Sloan and Candace McKinney. These girls will be glad to sell you a rodeo ticket. Tickets are also available at the San Saba County Chamber office Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m.- 12:00 Noon.
