Carolyn Ann (Cookie) Mueller Wood

Carolyn Ann (Cookie) Mueller Wood, age 60, went to be with her heavenly father, Friday, May 22, 2009. She fought a long battle with cancer, but lost. Cookie was a remarkable, loving person. She was very generous, and had an enormous heart for animals. Caring for animals was her passion in life.

Carolyn married Howard Wayne Wood (a San Saba native) on February 1, 1992. They made their home in Victoria, Texas, and spent 17 happy years together. Cookie will be dearly missed.

Cookie is survived by her best friend and loving husband Howard Wood; and her parents Leslie and Beatrice Mueller of Victoria, Texas. Her step-granddaughter Kalainey Wood; sisters, Nettie and husband Gary; Darlene and husband Pete; and Susan; brothers, Jim and Steve. Also her brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Angie Vaughn, Lusty and Clara Crain, Leo and Vivian Wood, and Vivian Lilke; and numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday May 28, 2009, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel and funeral mass was held at 1 p.m. Friday May 29, 2009, at Out Lady of Victory Cathedral with the Rev. David Berger officiating. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Victoria, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers were Darren Vaughn, Darrell Crain, Gary Buckler, Jared Buckler, Clint Kickendahl, and James Miker. Honorary pallbearers included Jimmy Mueller, Stephen Mueller, Pete Sprague, Richard Ross, Jim Millhouse, and Jr. Chaudion.

Cookie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leopold and Emilia Mueller, and Marslin and Bertha Willemin; father and mother-in-law, Ernest and Allie Wood.

Arrangements were with Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria, Tx.
