Coloring Contest helped raise money
Thursday, June 4, 2009 • Posted June 4, 2009

Recently, several civic minded citizens organized a coloring contest whereby the contestants colored pictures of the character Woody from the movie Toy Story, with Sheriff Allen Brown serving as their inspiration. Those pictures are now on display on the second floor of the San Saba County Courthouse.

The proceeds raised from this contest, along with donations from The Sharon Club, Patricia Faught, and many others, were used to purchase teddy bears for the ambulances, patrol vehicles, and fire trucks that respond to the many emergencies that occur within San Saba County involving children. The bears will be presented to those children who are involved in any emergency which our EMS, law enforcement, or fire department responds to, in an effort to comfort them during difficult times.

San Saba EMS, Sheriff’s Department, Police Department, and Fire Department wish to thank all those who donated their time and money to this worthy cause.
