Senior Center to Host Cancer Survivor Luncheon
Thursday, June 4, 2009 • Posted June 4, 2009

June 7, 2009 is National Cancer Survivors Day. On Monday June 8, the San Saba Senior Center will host a luncheon and reception from 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. co-sponsored by the American Cancer Society, represented by Laura Woollen. The Center is in need of food donations such as salads, desserts or appetizers. Volunteers are needed as well to be hosts and hostesses to greet, serve and generally make everyone feel welcome. This is a great opportunity to provide a community outreach for survivors and their families.

Space is limited to the first 40 respondents and RSVP’s will be needed by Friday, June 5, 2009 by calling the Senior Center at 372-5833. There will be special gifts and door prizes.

New Activities and Groups

The Center will begin Country Line Dance Classes on June 2, 2009. The classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

The Joy Singers is a newly formed group at the Center, also. Founding members are Pat Belk, Fran Hulgan, Linda Mixon, Gene Dufner, Suzanne Walters.

Everyone is welcome to join in with their favorite songs and they do take requests.
