Elizabeth Jane Taylor

Elizabeth Jane Taylor, 91, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Oak Street Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Finfrock officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Cherokee Cemetery in Cherokee, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Elizabeth was born on April 8, 1918 in Newton, Texas to the late Dudley and Annie Mae (Dickson) Jester. She married Richard Sloan Taylor in San Saba in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1996. Elizabeth was a homemaker and she moved to Graham in 1998 from Brownwood. While residing in Brownwood she taught Sunday School in the pre-school department for many years and volunteered for the American Red Cross and Republican Women. Elizabeth was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Jane Kelly and her husband, Charlie of Salinas, California and Sue Scibek and her husband, Stan of Graham; sons, Keith Taylor and his wife, Joann of Kingman, Arizona and Mike Taylor and his wife, Cindy of Carrollton; one brother, Joe Mac Jester of Austin; sisters, Sue Mullins of Ashtabula, Ohio, June Coppe of Euless, and Judy Jester of Garland; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by a son, Richard Sloan Taylor, Jr.

The family received friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Graham Regional Hospice.
