Elva Berry Hulme, 86, of Tow formerly of San Saba, was surrounded by her family when she went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at her residence. Elva was born March 12, 1923 in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of Robert Lee Berry and Nancy Lauderdale Berry. On September 4, 1940 Julius Dean Hulme and Vera Elva Berry were married in San Saba. She worked as a Chef until retiring. She attended the Locker Baptist Church.
Elva is survived by her sons, Douglas Neil Hulme and his wife, Patsy of Richland Springs; Dewey Hulme of Jarrell; her daughters, Nancy Hulme Wright and her husband, Paul of Del Rio; Jessie Jadine Gossett and her husband, Bobby of San Antonio; Carolyn Boswell of Tow; Wilma Jean Hulme Geary of Tow; her grandchildren, David Hulme; Daniel Hulme and his wife, Ria; B. J. Thomas and his wife, Kirsten; Captain Stephanie Keck USN and her husband, Rusty; Roy Gossett; Vikki Sealey and her husband, Sonny; Mary King and her husband, Gary; Richard Hulme and his wife, Aleshia; Cristi Dawn Parton; Cindi Rust; H. M. Boswell III and his wife, Kristen; Bucky Ray Boswell. Great-children, Jennifer Chrysler; CPL Scott Chrysler USMC and his wife, Lacey; Brian Chrysler; Victoria Thomas; Brienna Thomas; Joseph Thomas; Joshua Thomas; Aleah Thomas; Samuel Thomas; Heather McGee; Hailey McGee; Hunter King; Haley Parton; Caleb Parton; Jeffrey Lane Rust; Shelby Rust; Kelby Boswell; Kesla Boswell; Keldon Boswell; Kiley Boswell; Kentleigh Boswell.One great-great granddaughter, Lyla Mae Chrysler; one niece and three nephews.
Elva is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Julius Dean Hulme; one sister; and one son, Jerry Dean Hulme.
Services were held Friday, May 29, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Welton Watson officiating. Interment followed at Locker Cemetery.
The family received friends Thursday, May 28th from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
