The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met May 28, 2009 for play day with the Chair for May, Bobbie Churchill, calling for a game of ‘Mutt and Jeff’, which is counting only the par fives and par threes plus one extra hole less half your handicap.

First Place went to Jo Anne Hardy, who also scored the Low Net for the day with a 68! Great round for Jo Anne! Second Place went to Jo Ann Snow and Third Place to Hattie Rogers. Sandee Hartley scored the Low Gross for the day and Anita Miles chipped in to win the chip in pot and scored the only birdie of the day. Dorothy Sterner and Becky Hardin finished out the rooster for the day.

The President, Anita Miles, called for a call meeting to discuss the new lighting fixtures for the Ladies Bathroom and it was voted unamiously to use the new fixtures to replace the present florescent lighting and to consider new fixtures for the sink area.

Pat Ribb joined the ladies for lunch. Pat is making plans to get back on the links as soon as possible. She has remained an active member throughout her back problems.

June 4, 2009 will be the date for the monthly business meeting.

We appreciate the city crew as they give the golfer every courtesy with their maintenance issues. They know to be quiet as we golfers are so sensitive and can always blame the smallest distraction for our missed shot! Such is life at the San Saba River Golf Course where there is pure joy in “swinging!”
