February 28, 2008 the San Saba Ladies Golf Association met for play day. The Chair for February, Sandee Hartley, called for a game of playing the pink ball. This is a game where the ball is passed to each player on the team in rotation and the low score wins. If you lose the pink ball in a water hazard or just can’t find it then the other team wins. If both teams lose the pink ball then the low scoring team wins.

Both teams lost their ball on the #9 hole. Now the team of Sandee Hartley, Jo Ann Snow, Dorothy Sterner, and Bobbie Churchill lost their ball on their second shot into the water, while the team of Hattie Rogers, Jo Anne Hardy, Nell McHorse, and Anita Miles lost their ball further down the fairway trying to go over the water on their fourth shot. So it was a judgment call and the Chair, Sandee, declared that the ball was lost on the same hole so first place went to the low scoring team, which was: Sandee, Jo Ann, Dorothy, and Bobbie; after some good natured complaints.

Bobbie had the good day, winning both low gross and low net!

March made an early appearance as the wind was like a lion but the sunshine made it a pleasant day. So, it was good to be “swinging!”
