San Saba English II Honors Class completes study of Julius Caesar
Thursday, May 14, 2009 • Posted May 14, 2009

The English II Honors class at San Saba High School completed their study of Shakespeare’s classic Julius Caesar this week.

The class, taught by Elizabeth Chambers, was required to memorize the famous speech Mark Antony gave at Caesar’s funeral. The famous lines began with “Friends, Romans, Countrymen lend me your ears...” As an added requirement the students wore togas or Roman attire to do their presentations.

The group did an outstanding job with their costumes as well as their memorization. Mrs. Chambers said the group was a little hesitant at first but in the end they exceeded her expectations.
