The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met May 7, 2009 for the monthly business meeting with the following members present: Hattie Rogers, Sandee Hartley, Jo Ann Snow, Nell McHorse, Dorothy Sterner, Bobbie Churchill, Becky Hardin, Jo Anne Hardy, and Anita Miles.

The meeting was called to order by the President, Anita Miles, and she called on Hattie Rogers for prayer for the Craigan Johnson family and for our nation. May 7th was designated as the World Day of Prayer for our country.

The Secretary, Hattie Rogers, read the minutes for April 2009 and also for the call meeting in April and they were approved as read.

The Treasurer, Bobbie Churchill, gave the financial report.

Sandee Hartley, Traveling 4-Ball Chair, announced that Traveling 4-Ball will be in Lampasas on May 12, 2009.

The ladies voted unanimously to purchase new light fixtures for the Ladies Rest Room.

The ladies voted unanimously to make a memorial contribution to the First Baptist Church in memory of Craigan Johnson. Our love and sympathy goes out to Craigan’s family. Betty Ann Johnson, his wife, has been catering all of our events for the last several years and she is like an honorary member of the Ladies Golf Association and we love her dearly!

The meeting adjourned with the Chair for May, Bobbie Churchill, calling for a game of playing odd holes front nine - even holes back nine less half your handicap. Anita Miles and Jo Ann Snow tied for First Place and Anita also scored the Low Gross for the day and Jo Ann the Low Net, a good day for these two ladies! Second Place went to Sandee Hartley and Becky Hardin scored the only birdie of the day.

This week the Golf Advisory Board will be meeting with the City Manager, Stan Weik, and they will be setting a date for the annual meeting. It will be a fun golfing event with food and fellowship and will be announced to the membership. The annual meeting has normally been in January or February so this will begin a new tradition. And we’ll all get to get out there on our beautiful course and do some “swinging!”
