On Saturday, May 9, 2009 San Saba ISD held its school board elections in a joint election with the City of San Saba. Thanks so much to those individuals who worked the elections for us, in early voting and on Saturday at the actual election day. What is next? Our next step is to canvas the election to verify the count, and then at the next regular meeting in June, we will swear in our new members and reorganize our board officers.

San Saba ISD has the opportunity to thank an outgoing member for many years of dedicated service and to welcome in a new member to the school board of trustees. We send our thanks to Elmo Davis for his many years of public service in his capacity as a school board member, parent, and grandparent. We appreciate Elmo and his family for their dedication to the students of San Saba ISD.

New to our board will be Michael Deans. Michael will receive initial board orientation training prior to the June meeting at which time he will formally take office. The office of school board trustee is a difficult position. We appreciate each and every individual willing to give of their time to serve first the students of this community and secondly, the tax payers in our school district.

Once again – the Armadillo Baseball Team is Playoff Bound! Congratulations to them and their coaches as well, to our state participants, Shelby Hardy in Golf and Tayler Hibler in Tennis.

If you have any other question about our efforts to keep our students and staff safe or the rescheduling of activities, please do not hesitate to give me a call or the campus where your child attends school. Thanks for your continued support and be safe!
