Dillo Baseball Report

The San Saba Armadillos are going to the play-offs for the second year in a row. This was accomplished Saturday at Jim Ned where the weather/swine flu delay ended with the Dillos beating the Bangs Dragons 8-1.

This game was supposed to be played on 4 different dates and finally was played at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, the same day as the High School Prom and a day after the Dillos and Dragons tried to play it at Bangs. Friday nights bad storms ppd. the game and put the Dillos home at mid-night only to leave at 7:00 am. the next morning, none the less the Dillos played well and prevailed.

George Long pitched a great game, Miguel Flores, Ryan Pannell had key hits, and all the Dillos did what was needed to advance in the play-offs as the 3rd. place team from district 8-2a.

I have been increasingly impressed with the way we have been playing and am very proud of this team.We have overcome a lot and are playing our best baseball at the right time.We will play either Coahoma or Grape Creek the 2nd place team from district 6-2a at a site and time to be announced.

Other members of the San Saba Varsity Baseball Team include Trey Tinney, Ryan Parks, Martin Vega,Cody Herd, Koby Cisneros, Tucker Cromer, Chance Gotcher, Hayden Oliver, Blake Lewis, Hector Jimenez, Ramiro Franco and mgrs. Jose Olivas and Leanne Perry. The JV finished off a remarkable season beating Bangs and finishing the season 9-3.

Thank you for your support and keep it up.
