The San Saba Pony League Team traveled to Burnet on Monday May 4th to play the Burnet White team. Once again the Dillos had a rough time getting started on offense. The Dillos gave up 1 run in the bottom of the 1st and were behind 1-0 after 1 inning. Both teams were unable to score a run in the 2nd. In the top of the 3rd G. Young put the Dillos on the board tying the game up at 1-1. In the bottom of the 3rd however Burnet was able to move 3 more runners across the plate. This put Burnet ahead 4-1. The Dillos were unable to manufacture any runs in the 4th, but the defense held strong and kept Burnet from scoring any more runs. In the top of the 5th S. Argote and J.T. Holland scored for the dillos but that was all the runs the Dillos could score ending the game 4-3 with Burnet on top. K. Verette pitched a good game pitching 3 innings giving up only 4 runs with 4 walks and 5 strike outs. M. McKinnerney pitched 1 shut out inning in relief striking out 1 batter and walking 2 . The boys really held in there and did what they could to try and pull out the victory. They just fell a little short. I want to thank all of the parents and friends that come out and support these young men as they go out and represent San Saba so well. GO DILLOS!!!
