We know God made this old earth, and put man upon its face; to forever do his worth, and labor for his race.
He made the land and the seas, and gave each animal its own life; then placed man as king of these, and for perfection gave him wife.
He separated man from other beasts, and gave him knowledge over all; to make them a prey of feasts, when necessity makes the call.
Man was made for God's own glory, and His Son was sent to save; all who believe the precious story that Christ conquered death and grave.
All men are alike in infance, just an innocent soul in life; as guidance in a tempting distance, God set prayer to conquer strife.
So we have no excuse for weakness, and no excuse from our duty; it is ordained that prayer and meekness does give power and beauty.
By honest, humble prayer before hand, there is no task we can't do; for the Father rewards every man that humbly prays it through.
So live with a hope to be justified, and pray for things worthwhile; to remember Christ, Who died that we may live, work, conquer and smile.
