Thursday, April 30, 2009 • Posted April 30, 2009

At the Regular April Monthly School Board meeting, the San Saba ISD Board of Trustees took action to name a campus principal for San Saba Middle School. Mr. Jeff Pannell stepped in to the interim role during the 2008-2009 school year, and the ISD appreciates so very much the great job he has done. Likewise, the support from staff in this situation has been greatly appreciated. The level of professionalism, respect and self-discipline the middle school staff have shown this year is very commendable.

Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, Michael Bohensky will be the leader at San Saba Middle School. Michael and his family come to us from Bronte ISD where he has worked most recently as assistant principal and principal of Bronte High School.

Michael and his wife, Amy, have three children, Analyn (9), Katelyn (6) and Emalyn (2). Michael is a 1997 graduate of Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and later with his mid management certificate and Superintendent’s certification.

He is a member of the Bronte Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, participated in the 1995 Olympic Festival in Colorado Springs, the 1995 Division II National Champion in Decathlon, and a four-time NCAA Division II All-American in Track and Field.

Amy Bohensky graduated from Angelo State University in 1997 with a BS in Kinesiology and English. She has taught Pre-AP and AP English I and II, 8th grade English, English II, special education and Pals.
