Lady Dillo Softball Report
Thursday, April 30, 2009 • Posted April 30, 2009

On Tuesday, April 21st the Lady Dillos traveled to Comanche to battle the Lady Indians. Ashley Pulatie got the start in the circle. Pulatie pitched well early, but errors by the defense were the reason the Lady Dillos trailed. Bianca Dawson and Katy Davis both relieved Pulatie. It was too many mistakes early that put the game out of reach. As far as offense was concerned, Brittany Moreno went 2-2 with 2 RBI’s, and Katy Davis went 2-3 with an RBI. Ashley Pulatie, Bekah Bush, and Bianca Dawson also collected hits. The final score was 27-3 in favor of Comanche.

The JV was also in action on Tuesday. Bianca Dawson started in the circle for the JV. Dawson pitched 3 innings for the Lady Dillos. The JV bats were hot early in the game. We batted around the entire lineup in the first inning scoring 4 runs. The third inning led to four more runs, but Comanche was able to hold off a late rally and get the victory 10-8. Bianca Dawson led the way going 2 for 3 at the plate. Ashley Pulatie, Bekah Bush, Paige Faught, Courtney Pryor, Marisela Zapata, and Maloree Ramos all collected a hit for the JV. Ashley Pruitt and Paige Faught both worked multiple walks to give the JV base runners.

On Friday, April 25th the Lady Dillos were in action against the Lady Bluecats of Coleman. Bianca Dawson got the start in the circle for the Lady Dillos. Ashley Pulatie and Katy Davis saw action in relief. The Lady Dillos had a few defensive miscues early that led to Bluecat runs. Errors accompanied by Coleman hits spelled trouble early on. The Lady Dillos got a rally going in the bottom of the 5th, but it was too little too late. Coleman got the victory 21-9. Brittany Moreno and Kaitlin Bode both went 2 for 2 with RBI’s. Katy Davis went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Ashley Pulatie, Kristen Jordan, Bianca Dawson, Amanda Saldivar, Bekah Bush, and Whitney Key all collected base hits. Jordan, Saldivar, Bush, and Key also had an RBI.

This was the final game of the 2009 campaign. I want to thank everyone for their support and look forward to seeing everyone again next year. GO LADY DILLOS!
