SSHS Run-Through Tunnel Fundraiser edges toward goal
Thursday, April 30, 2009 • Posted April 30, 2009

It’s inevitable that when given a goal the students at San Saba High are unstoppable! This year the BCIS II class of 2008-2009 has made it their personal obligation to raise money for a new run-through tunnel for San Saba High School.

The recent efforts made by this young group have swept the school with spirit. What started as a school assignment has evolved into a community project attracting help from local businesses, as well as individuals.

This past Saturday the SSHS 2009 Fighting Armadillos united in an attempt to raise more money than the previous fundraiser held by the cheerleaders and drill team.

Although they didn’t surpass the success of the girls, proof of their determination showed as the football players, and coaches car hopped at Sonic. They collected an outstanding amount of tips and raised over $1600.00.

As a result of the fundraiser, the BCIS class has earned a total of $7836.00. Dollars away from meeting their goal of $8,000.00, the students of SSHS have learned in a short amount of time that when perseverance is combined with school spirit anything is possible.
