(Editor's Note: This Candidate Questionnaire response arrived too late to be included with the other responses in last week's paper. In the interest of fairness, it is presented below)

My name is David Wright and I am running for a position on the San Saba ISD school board. As the father of seven with a child on each campus and two children that have graduated from San Saba, I am committed to the education of all children.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science in English. I also attended and played football at Arizona State University. I taught English and coached football, basketball and track for a number of years in Denton, Texas. I am currently the President/Owner of Making Education Possible, Inc. doing business as iStudySmart.com, a company dedicated to making earning college credit affordable and portable for working adults.

As the Grandfather of one and Father of adult, teen-age, pre-teen and elementary age children I have come to the conclusion that every child faces challenges that tear at the heart of a parent/grandparent. I am committed to hearing your voice.

As the provider for a family of nine for the past twenty seven years I have faced lean financial times and seasons of prosperity. I have found that you have to adjust your spending to your circumstances.

My experience as a student/athlete, teacher/coach, employee/employer, volunteer/church leader and three times cancer survivor has given me a unique perspective on what is important. I feel I will bring a mature influence to the school board.

I encourage everyone to go to the polls and exercise your right as an American to be heard by voting for the candidate of your choice. As you cast your vote in an uncertain economic environment please don't lose sight of the purpose of our school board which I believe is to ensure a quality education for all and to protect the interests and concerns of our true treasure: THE CHILDREN.
