Farmers, Ranchers and Rainfall
Thursday, April 30, 2009 • Posted April 30, 2009

I have watched my grandparents look many times to the skies to see if there were any rain clouds forming. I also saw my grandfather plant cotton when it was dry or no moisture. One problem we face today with fewer people living on farms or ranches is that depending on God may seem distant or not necessary. Maybe we work where we are going to get a paycheck every month and we count on it being there and we know the amount. Being involved in farming or ranching may help us realize just how dependent we are on God. We may have the latest equipment, leveled land, fertilizer and weed killer, that new improved seed but if we do not get the rainfall it is all for naught. It takes faith to Farm or Ranch but it also takes faith to be a Christian and live the Christian life. Jesus chastised the disciples for having little faith, (Matthew 8:26). We can have our sins forgiven and be made right or be in good standing with God by faith, (Romans 1:16&17, Galatians 2:16, 1 Peter 1:18-21). In Hebrews Chapter 11 verses 6 through 31 it talks about many that pleased God by faith. Look at the number of times, “By faith” are mentioned. Let us see what God has promised and enter into those promises by faith, (Colossians 1:5). See you in Church next Sunday.
