Elizabeth Austermann

Elizabeth Austermann, 13, of Cherokee, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009 at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin. Elizabeth was born July 9, 1995 in Galveston, Texas, the daughter of Keith Austermann and Cristy Hutchins Austermann. She was a member of Gifted and Talented of Cherokee Junior High School. Elizabeth was a Junior High Cheer Leader, played Basketball, Track and Cross Country at Cherokee. She was active in the Cherokee Youth Group, UIL and loved horseback riding. Elizabeth was a regular volunteer at the Cherokee Community, First Baptist Church, Cherokee Care Club (Soldiers Ministry) and Kids Helping Kids Stay Off Drugs.

Elizabeth is survived by her Father and Mother, Keith and Cristy Austermann of Cherokee; her maternal grandparents, Wayland and Catherine VanCleeve of Pottsboro; her paternal grandparents, Leroy and Mistsu Austermann of Tye; her brothers, Nathan Austermann of San Antonio; Stephen Austermann of Cherokee; Caleb Raddick of Kingsland; and Joshue Raddick of Kingsland; sisters, Nicole Reyes and her husband, Josh of Cherokee; Tracy Lowe and her husband, John of Utah; Amanda Austermann of San Angelo; Kelly Skaggs of Stephenville; and Chelsea Fry of Cherokee; several cousins and nephew, Joshua Reyes of Cherokee.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her grandmother, Harriet Austermann.

Services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cherokee with Rev. Jody Simmons officiating. Interment will follow at Kuykendall Cemetery.

The family received friends, Tuesday, April 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cherokee.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Cherokee First Baptist Youth Group.
