TAKS Testing at the high school will be March 5. Students will be taking the ELA TAKS Test. Talk with your student about the importance and purpose of tests. Research shows that students are more likely to be motivated to do their best on tests when they understand why they are taking the test and why it’s important. Standardized tests, like the TAKS Tests, show students, parents, and teachers how well students are learning compared to other students around the state or country. Remind your teen that test-taking is a part of life such as driving test to get your license or other tests in medicine or law. It is important to start now preparing for the TAKS test on March 5 as well as the last week of April testing by getting to bed earlier every night and eating a balanced, healthy meal plan. Becoming comfortable with taking tests now will help your student succeed in school and in life.
