Down to the Last Penny
Thursday, April 23, 2009 • Posted April 23, 2009

Over the past two weeks, the BCIS II class held an ongoing coin drive through out the Elementary and Middle School classes. Each class was encouraged to bring any loose change they could find and turn into their homeroom teacher.

This competition has further helped with the fundraising of our future run through tunnel. The winning class who raised the most money will get to run through the tunnel at the first home football game.

The BCIS class counted down to the last penny to reveal the winning class. After many days of coin counting, Mrs. Johnson’s 5th grade class came in with $143! The coin drive plus money made from “jean week” added up to about $1200. We have now raised over half of our needed goal of $8000. We thank everyone for all of the donations and for Mrs. Laynie Johnson for her support. Congratulations Mrs. Johnson’s class!
