The 2009 SS Pony League team consisting of Geryn Young, Kolton Ellis, Kelan Verette, Jordan Watson, Dallas Caldwell, Dustin Sloan, Ryan Guidroz, Micheal McKinnerney, Sean Argote, J.T. Mathis, Russell Lowe, J.T. Holland, Diego Lara, and Manager Nathan Amstead, traveled to Burnet on Thursday, April 16th, to play their season opener against the Burnet Grey.

J.T. Mathis scored the Dillos 1st run in the top half of the 1st inning. In the bottom of the 1st Burnet scored 3 runs to take the lead 3-1. Both teams were unable to score in the 2nd. In the top of the 3rd D. Lara, and J.T. Mathis both score to draw the Dillos back even with Burnet. In the bottom of the 3rd Burnet scored 1 to regain the lead at 4-3. In the top of the 4th D. Caldwell and K.Ellis each scored to help the Dillos regain the lead 5-4. The Dillos held Burnet scoreless for the remainder of the game. R. Lowe added another run in the top of the 5th to give the Dillos the 6-4 victory.

K. Verette pitched 3 good innings for the Dillos giving up only 4 runs, and striking out 4 batters. R. Guidroz pitched 2 innings and did not give up a run, while striking out 5 batters.

The boys did an outstanding job, and were always ready to do their part in battling back whether offensively or defensively. The Dillos will take on Mason next Thursday in Mason at 6:30 p.m. GO DILLOS!!!
