Monday afternoon a big birthday celebration was held for Elo Henniger at the Lampasas Nursing home and Rehab Center. Sylvia Stinnett baked the cake, LaNell Daniels brought the ice cream and Lola Morris made the punch. His daughter Lucille Underwood and her friend Waymon from Austin were among the many relatives and friends that were there to celebrate his 97 years and to wish him many more.

Sunday afternoon Bob and Doris Poe dropped by the nursing home to wish Elo a happy belated birthday. Elo, Bill and Jo Price were in the middle of a domino game and Doris sat on the side lines keeping everyone straight. A second game was played with Elo and Jo being partners, playing against Doris and Bill. In the short time left to play Elo and Jo came out the big winners. Needless to say Elo is feeling his oats. He still does not have much use of his right arm, but in time that will change.

The illness reports are some are better and some are about the same. Still have Glenda Scroggins in the hospital at Temple, reports that Shirley Meischen is recuperating at home and Jerome is now ill with the bug that has been going around. RJ Collins is in Spring Oaks in Lampasas recuperating.

Phil B and Winnie Lou McCoury are still sick, but feel like they are both on the road to recovery. Phil B had a virus and then pneumonia and Winnie Lou is recovering from the flu bug. Their daughter Phyllis Brookshire of Bryan came in and stayed with them a couple of days and Justin McCoury came in bringing a couple of IV’s that helped to pull Phil B through. Needless to say the family has had a very rough time of it, but seem to be getting better. As Phil B said “you have to get better before you can die.”

The family of Vernon Lindsey is in need of prayer as his mother is not well and is not expected to be with the family much longer.

Thursday night Jane Clark had a game night at her home with nineteen people attending to eat supper and play games.

Thursday night spent playing games was not enough for Jane as she spent Friday in Cherokee playing games with Carol Littlefeld, Martha Wooten of San Angelo, Vernon and Judy Brister. They played games all afternoon.

Sunday after church Stephen, Danita, Lou and JD Bynum of Lampasas ate lunch in the home of William and Jane Clark along with Jamie, Andrew and A.J. Houdyshell, Doug, Kristi, Jordan and Jaylee and Toni Mayben. Stephen gave the sermon at church.

Saturday Jane Clark, Nana Marley and Barbara Jones were in Temple to visit Glenda Scroggins.

Barbara was back in Temple Sunday as her son Gary Jones and his wife Julie of Mesquite were there to visit his aunt Glenda.

Randy and Carol Reed of Leander was in over the weekend. They have a place on the river on theMarley acres. They try to come in fairly often and now that the weather is getting better, you can just bet they will be in more often.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Patrick Henniger who will celebrate his birthday February 28, to Hugo Preece who will celebrate a birthday March 4, to Zachary Hickey and Madison Jewel Jones who will celebrate a birthday March 5.
