On April 6-7, the Girls and Boys Tennis Teams won the 8-AA District Championship. The Armadillo Tennis Team qualified seven players for regionals and three players as alternates to regionals. Qualifying for regionals were Tayler Hibler winning 1st place in Girls Singles, Tarah Crosby and Nicole Sears won 1st place in Girls Doubles, Diego Gonzales and Chase Key won 1st place in Boys Doubles, Ariela De Giuli and Marshall McIntosh won 2nd place in Mixed Doubles. Placing third place and alternates to regionals were Kobe Cisneroz in Boys Singles, and Lauren Dawson and Reid Casco in Mixed Doubles. Kobe Cisneroz lost to the number 1 seed Larat Lawrence of Brady in playback for second place 6-1,6-0. Lauren Dawson and Reid Casco lost a heartbreaker to teammates Ariela De Giuli and Marshall McIntosh in a playback for second place by a score of 6-2,4-6,7-6. Jose Vega playing his best tennis of the year lost a tough match in the quarterfinals to the number one seed Larat Lawrence of Brady 7-5,6-2. Houston Casco and Josh Raiford won consolation in Boys Doubles, Kelli Cox was defeated in the consolation semifinals. Regan Hartranft and Brittany Moreno won consolation in varsity girls doubles.

In the JV Division Alex Rangel and Ryan Plumley won 1st place in boys doubles over teammates B.J.Harbour and Romero Franco. Kristen Jordan and Luke Cox won 1st place in Mixed doubles. D.J. McKinney lost in the consolation finals and Chase Pierce lost in the consolation semifinals.

The tennis team will be preparing for regionals which will be held in Odessa on April 21-22.
