Ladies Golf Notes
Thursday, April 16, 2009 • Posted April 16, 2009

The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met April 9, 2009 for play day with the Chair for April, Jo Ann Snow, calling for a game of “Best at Something”, where you receive one point for being in the fairway, one point for getting on the green in regulation, and one point for a one putt and then a point deduction for being in a hazard, loosing your ball, or a three putt. It is one of the ladies favorite games as everybody has an equal chance for a win and it makes you strive for those things that make you a better golfer.

First place went to Anita Miles and she also scored the Low Gross for the day, Second Place went to Jo Ann Snow, and Third Place went to Dorothy Sterner who also scored the Low Net of the day. We were glad to have Pat Ribb back playing some holes and Bobbie Churchill was out enjoying the sunshine and watching. These two ladies have had health issues so it was great to have them back. Also playing were Hattie Rogers, Becky Hardin, and Sandee Hartley. Jo Anne Hardy joined the ladies for lunch.

It is now time to sign up for the Spring Pecan Classic Four Lady Tournament. The tournament will be May 2, 2009 and tee off time is at 9:00 AM. Please call Anita Miles at 325-372-3581 or email her at anitass@centex.net to enter the tournament. We are hoping some of you local players will get up a team and enter. It is a fun tournament with good food and fellowship!

This week on April 15 & 16, 2009 four ladies, Hattie Rogers, Jo Ann Snow, Sandee Hartley, and Anita Miles, will be attending the Senior Women’s Amateur Golf of Texas tournament at Samons Park in Temple, Texas. We almost always have a winner from San Saba so we are hoping once again for that success. Senior women from all over Texas participate. They have a welcome party, a banquet, and an awards party. The ladies always look forward to this event and a chance to renew old friendships. And let’s hope we have San Saba ladies that are really doing some good “swinging!”
