Just a reminder that even with small amounts of rain grassfires are still possible. Last Thursday, according to the Texas Forest Service, there were over 61,000 acres burned and 17 homes lost in Texas.

Over 400 acres burned in San Saba County with no structures lost. Potential is still a threat. Please take time to check for fire potentials around your home. Look at length of grass, tree branches or shrubs next to house, and a well-watered yard around the house. If a fire starts, please give accurate directions by using county road or highway numbers. If you are burning, please call the San Saba Sheriff Office 372-5551 so the fire department will not be called out unless it is out of control. Your help and support for the fire department is much appreciated.

The Randolph Family had Easter dinner at the home of Michael and Lynda Randolph. The children had a great time hunting Easter Eggs.

Thomas, Elaine and Stephanie Bowden spent Easter with Flora Bowden.

Mickey Harr from Brownwood visited in Cherokee last Friday.
