Thursday, April 16, 2009 • Posted April 16, 2009

Extension Education club members attended the District 7 TEEA Spring Conference in Brady on March 31st. The keynote speaker during the morning session was Bert Strigler.

He and other volunteers rescued the last remaining WWII building at Brady’s Curtis field, had it moved to a space behind the old red jail, restored it and turned it into a museum commemorating Curtis field and the Brady POW camp. He had many interesting stories about Brady during the war years.

During the lunch break, the ladies were entertained with music by Justin Tevino, Paula McCall & Charlie Walton.

Those attending were: L-R Marjorie McDowell, Marcie Cooper, Jeanne Sauer, Mary Jane Dennis, Lynn Blankenship, Lucy Wilson, Sherri Craddock, Faye Currie, Bertha Griffay and Extension agent Carolyn McDowell.
